The Fastest Fizz Experiment!

After reading about the Scientific Method in their textbooks, our class practiced using it by performing the "Fastest Fizz" experiment. The question:  Which water temperature (hot or cold) will dissolve an effervescent tablet the fastest?  We began by sharing the information students already knew about the effects of temperature on water (from their experiences making Jell-O, using ice cubes to cool soup, etc). Then each child wrote their own hypothesis.  The actual experiment was the most fun!  After carefully observing, recording, and studying their data, students were able to draw a conclusion ---- just like real scientists!  Here are a few photos:
