Please note that the time of the Halloween parade has changed to 2 pm this Friday......... The students did a great job on their Animal Reports! This week they'll be using the information they researched to write expository essays.  They'll be learning how to organize their information into paragraphs, how to add descriptive details, and how to revise their first drafts using proper grammar and punctuation.  In Social Studies, the students are  learning about the Powhatan Indians and the first English settlement in Jamestown, Virginia.  We began reading Elizabeth's Jamestown Diary, a young girl's account of the hardships endured by the early settlers.  In Religion, the students are learning about some women from the Old Testament - Sarah, Hannah, Ruth, and Queen Esther.  We are reading stories about their extraordinary acts of courage and faith.
